HTML Resources

There are a number of good web sites that offer introductions to HTML along with more advanced help. We recommend the following:

HTML Goodies
A great introductory set of primers for beginning coders. These tutorials are an excellent overview of HTML to assist users who want to take their webpages a step further, or need assistance correcting code created by WYSIWYG (What You See is What You Get) editors.

Introduction to HTML
A how-to guide published by Case Western Reserve, with tutorials for newcomers and more advanced users of HyperText Markup Language (HTML), with interactive quizzes.

Know The Code: HTML for beginners
A well done introduction to the basics of web authoring. A good place for beginners to start.

Microsoft's "HTML for Beginners"
This is an excellent, very comprehensive site devoted to all aspects of HTML programming.

Index DOT Html

WebMonkey
From the producers of WIRED, and the HotWired site, WebMonkey is a favorite - from great how-to articles on the basics to tips and techniques for the latest tools.

Javascript

There is a wealth of JavaScript information on the Web. We have provided several of the best we could find below. Remember, not every browser out there supports advanced Javascript and DHTML - if your site MUST be visible to a wide range of surfers, be careful with the cutting edge code!

Earthweb's Javascripts.com
Registration is required for this site (free), but once you're in, this is a nearly endless collection of javascripts, searchable and organized by category.

The JavaScript Source
This might be the easiest place to find Javascript code - the site offers a working JavaScript example of all the scripts and a text box with the complete actual JavaScript code.

Coolshare
Information and examples of Java applets, JavaScripts, HTML, VRML, CGI and other Web development tools and utilities.

Developer.com Java Articles
A lot of information for more experienced developers.

HotScripts.com
No matter what you need for your site, there is a downloadable solution here. Pricing varies from free and up.
